About TimerStopwatch.com
TimerStopwatch.com is a free set of timing tools that open instantly, work on any device and respect your privacy: an online timer, a stopwatch, a Pomodoro timer, an interval timer and a countdown to any date.
Why we built it
Most online timers share the same frustrations: alarms that ring late when the tab is in the background, a reload that loses everything, sign-up walls, and pages so crowded with ads that the clock is hard to find. We wanted the opposite — one clear clock, an alarm you can trust, and nothing in the way.
How it works
- Time is measured, not counted. Every tool works out the time from the moment you pressed Start, never by adding up ticks, so nothing drifts — not after an hour, not in a background tab, not after the computer sleeps.
- Alarms are scheduled ahead. When a timer starts, its alarm is booked on the browser’s audio clock, which browsers do not throttle. That is why it rings on time while you are in another tab.
- State lives on your device. Start times, laps, settings and your Pomodoro tally are kept in your browser’s local storage, so a reload picks up where you left off — and none of it is sent to us.
- Sounds are synthesised. Every alarm is generated in your browser with the Web Audio API. There are no audio files to download and nothing to load from anyone else.
- It works offline. After your first visit, a service worker keeps the tools available without a connection, and you can install the site to your home screen like an app.
Our principles
- Free, with no account. Every tool is free to use without signing up.
- Private by design. No cookies, no analytics trackers and no third-party scripts. See the privacy policy.
- Accessible. Everything works from the keyboard, controls are labelled for screen readers, and both light and dark themes meet WCAG contrast guidelines.
- Honest about limits. A browser can only ring while the page is open, and phones may pause pages when the screen locks. For anything safety-critical, use a dedicated timer.
The family
TimerStopwatch.com is built by the team behind 123Clock.online — world clocks, time zones, calendars and sunrise times — and a family of other free single-purpose tools listed at the bottom of every page.
